
Miguel
De Caro has brought his music all over the country, with countless live
shows,appearences in local radio and TV and in well known theaters
like San Martín and Alvear.
Among other distinctions, he has been nominated for the 1993 ACE
award (The National Show Critics' Prize) for his first recorded work
"Saxotangueando", sharing the pool with Astor Piazzolla and Raúl
Garello. He was also nominated for the 1995 Estrella de Mar award in the
"best live show" category, this time alongside singer Susana
Rinaldi and trumpeter Fats Fernández.
Both his Argentina's and
Brazil's live performances and his recordings have obtained excellent
reviews in local , Brazilian, Italian and US media.
In 1997, following a request
of the Placido Domingo Foundation, he composes a tune honoring the
great tenor in the 25º anniversary of his first performance at the Colon
Theater. The song was published by the EMI Record Label and was played in
a dinner gala attended by the honoree.
Miguel De Caro's two Cd's to
date, "Saxotangueando" (1993) and "Tangofuerte" (1998)
show him at his peak. The single "Tiempo Fuerte", written by Raúl
Garello, included in his last work, is being used as a theme song in
several TV and radio shows.
Besides his continuous gigs,
and his teaching agenda (for which he is requested and recognized as an
authority in the field), Miguel De Caro's current plans include to show
his talent overseas.
